From an award-winning artist, Aravali proudly presents this exclusive made-to-order collection. The master terracotta artist is renowned for her pinch pottery, which is sculpted by hand using a special pinch. Durga is depicted in this sculpture returning home with her daughters Lakshmi and Saraswati, as well as her sons Kartikeya and Ganesha. Eastern Indian traditions consider these deities to be Durga's children, and Durga Puja is celebrated every autumn to commemorate Durga's visit to her parental home as Uma with her beloved children. When Goddess Durga arrives or leaves on a boat, it symbolises that she will bless you with all of the resources you need in order to achieve your desires.
There is a great deal of labour involved in this piece since it is extremely complicated. During the making process, clay is refined, clay is mixed, details are etched out of the sculpture, it is dried, and finally it is fired. Terracotta firing is a very complex process, and if the right temperature and technique are not followed, the entire sculpture can be ruined. Unlike most artists, the master artist does not paint her terracotta pieces but instead achieves the colour by firing them at different temperatures.
