Wooden Statue of Shri Krishna Muralidhara 2.5 Feet [MADE TO ORDER]

Handcrafted in a village in Tamil Nadu, this magnificent Muralidhara sculpture is a striking example of the region’s rich woodcraft tradition, an art form that has been proposed for GI certification by the Government of India. Created by master artisans who have inherited their skills through generations, each piece is meticulously carved in accordance with the sacred principles and proportions prescribed in the Shilpa Shastra.

The creation of a single sculpture is a labour of devotion, requiring four to six weeks of painstaking craftsmanship. The process begins with Jadippu, the preliminary shaping of the wood, followed by the intricate sculpting stage, and concludes with careful smoothing and finishing to achieve its refined form and texture.

This artefact portrays Lord Krishna as Muralidhara—the divine flute player—standing gracefully in the classic Tribhanga posture, accompanied by his sacred cow. The composition beautifully captures Krishna’s serenity, charm, and divine presence, evoking the pastoral beauty of Vrindavan and the enduring appeal of his music.

Richly coloured and exquisitely detailed, every aspect of the sculpture—from the delicate facial features and flowing garments to the intricate ornaments and decorative motifs—reflects the exceptional skill, patience, and devotion of the artisan.
