Gond: Here and meow

Aravali brings you a collection of hand-painted Gond art inspired by the region's flora and fauna. Several of these paintings are the product of the artists' imaginations, where the life forms they encounter are transformed aesthetically.
The Gonds have a history of 1400 years and live primarily in Madhya Pradesh, but also in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Gond households have traditionally used local colours and materials on walls and floors. Over time, this art form evolved from mud walls to canvas and paper. The Gond art style has its own distinctive characteristics. Vibrant colours like orange, yellow, blue, and red are used in the paintings, which are created with articulated lines and dots.
The GI certified painting is made on art paper and comes with a beautiful double-mount complimentary frame in a natural wood finish.
