Find a moment of calm with the Dokra Tea Light – The Yogi, a beautifully handcrafted fusion of GI-certified Dokra metal craft and natural wood. Featuring a serene yogi seated in the classic Padmasana (Lotus Pose), this elegant tabletop sculpture embodies mindfulness, balance, and inner peace. Thoughtfully designed with a handcrafted wooden base that doubles as a tea light holder, it transforms into a warm ambient décor piece when illuminated, making it perfect for meditation spaces, living rooms, and contemporary interiors.
Dokra is one of the world's oldest surviving metal casting traditions, with a history spanning more than 4,000 years. Created using the ancient lost wax casting technique, every sculpture begins as a hand-modelled wax form. Layers of fine clay are applied around the wax before molten brass is poured into the mould. As the wax melts away, the brass fills its place, faithfully capturing every handcrafted detail. Since the mould is broken after casting, no two Dokra sculptures are ever identical, making each piece an exclusive work of art.
This sculpture is handcrafted by GI-certified, award-winning artisan Shri Gauranga Karmakar from West Bengal, whose family has preserved the Dokra tradition across generations. The textured brass finish, elongated forms, and handcrafted detailing are hallmarks of authentic Dokra art. Over time, the brass naturally develops a rich patina, enhancing the sculpture's character and giving it an heirloom quality that only handcrafted metal can achieve.
Whether placed on a meditation altar, coffee table, office desk, bookshelf, or console, the Dokra Tea Light – The Yogi creates an atmosphere of warmth and tranquillity. Light a tea candle beneath the sculpture to enjoy a soft glow that beautifully complements its contemplative form. It also makes a thoughtful gift for yoga practitioners, spiritual seekers, art collectors, housewarmings, festive celebrations, executive gifting, and premium corporate gifting.

Brass and Bronze have a natural tendency to patinate as it ages. The patina gives the art object a distinct character. The patina can be removed, to some extent, by gently cleaning the object with a solution of tamarind water and a pinch of salt. This usually removes the patina.
