Celebrate the rhythm of Indian folk traditions with the Dokra Tea Light – The Musician, an elegant fusion of GI-certified Dokra metal craft and handcrafted wood. This beautifully handcrafted tabletop accent portrays a folk musician playing the drum, while its thoughtfully designed wooden base doubles as a tea light holder, creating a warm, ambient glow that enhances the sculpture's timeless appeal. Blending ancient craftsmanship with contemporary functionality, this unique creation is equally suited as a decorative accent or a functional tea light holder.
Dokra is one of India's oldest surviving metal-casting traditions, dating back over 4,000 years to the Indus Valley Civilization. The craft is created using the ancient lost wax casting technique, where every sculpture begins as a hand-modelled wax form. Layers of fine clay are built around the wax before molten brass is poured into the mould, replacing the wax to create the final sculpture. Since the clay mould is broken after every casting, no two Dokra artworks are ever identical, making each piece a genuine one-of-a-kind creation.
Handcrafted by GI-certified artisan Shri Gauranga Karmakar from West Bengal, this artwork reflects generations of inherited knowledge and exceptional craftsmanship. The textured surface, intricate detailing, and rustic finish are distinctive characteristics of authentic Dokra art, giving every sculpture its own personality. Over time, the brass naturally develops a graceful patina that further enhances its character and beauty, making it an heirloom-quality collectible.
Whether displayed on a coffee table, console, office desk, bookshelf, or dining table, the Dokra Tea Light – The Musician adds warmth, artistry, and cultural richness to any interior. When illuminated with a tea light, it creates a soft, inviting ambience, making it perfect for festive décor, intimate gatherings, meditation spaces, and heritage-inspired interiors. It also makes a thoughtful gift for music lovers, art collectors, housewarmings, weddings, festive celebrations, executive gifting, and premium corporate gifting.

Brass and Bronze have a natural tendency to patinate as it ages. The patina gives the art object a distinct character. The patina can be removed, to some extent, by gently cleaning the object with a solution of tamarind water and a pinch of salt. This usually removes the patina.
