The Bronze Saraswati from Karnataka is intricately carved and designed by the artisans of the state. The Government of India has GI certified the Karnataka bronze. These handmade bronze pieces are made through the traditional lost wax method and are not forged in a factory. In the south of India, bronze is believed to exude the energy of the divine, which is why idols are made from it.
Saraswati is a Hindu Goddess associated with knowledge, music, art, speech, wisdom, and learning. The dawn Goddess, whose rays dispel the darkness of ignorance, is the river of consciousness. Saraswati is shown dancing with a palm leaf manuscript in her hand in this piece. Vastu recommends placing the Saraswati idol in the west and southwest, as it represents education. The sculpture comes in a vintage patina finish with a complimentary wooden pedestal.

Brass and Bronze have a natural tendency to patinate as it ages. The patina gives the art object a distinct character. The patina can be removed, to some extent, by gently cleaning the object with a solution of tamarind water and a pinch of salt. This usually removes the patina.
