Bidriware in a Frame

Birdiware is a GI certified art form from Bidar Karnataka. It is an intricate artform which involes painfully long hours to carve and inlay a blackened brass object with silver.
Bidri artists come from traditional artisan families and learn the art from an early age. Each piece goes through the process of a brass object being blackened and then carved and inlaid. The entire porcess may take anywhere between a week to a few months depending on the size and complexities.
